AND it must be the bad karma that I got from not attending tutorial, I am greeted by two traumatising news. No one died, but these news are as good as stabbing me right through my heart.
Traumatising news:
Taiwanese singer Jimmy Lin a dad?
ARGH! Jimmy Lin is a dad?! Oh man! That's sad news, for ME. How can? This guy is like my first idol can? He still looks like a young boy himself, and he's a FATHER?!? Tsk tsk tsk. I'm hoping it's not true, but then again, he is so old already, time to have a family, and the credibility of this news is quite high, it's on CNA. Haiz.

Then, there's heart-break news #2
Nicholas Tse to stop making music
NO WAY!
Nicholas Tse has great songs, really.
I bought a few of his albums, and am impressed of his songs, particularly those of which he composed himself. His Cantonese songs are good, and his Mandarin songs are, well, normal.
(Maybe his retirement from the music industry isn't much of a loss, after all, he has LEFT the Cantopop industry over 3 years ago, his latest album only has ONE Cantonese song.)
"Previously one had to sell several hundred thousand albums in order to hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum. These days, some singers gain fame over one hit song on an album and announce the very next day that they are having a concert. I am unable to accomplish the same if this is what it takes to survive," lamented Tse.
Spoken by a true musician.
I have to agree with him. Hongkong's music industry is DEAD.
If anyone tells you that the HK music industry is striving, then that person must be some dumb shiat who left his ears in in a capsule stuck in the 1990s. If anyone tells you that the HK music industry is stagnant, then that person must be another dumb shiat who is into candypop music. If anyone tells you that the HK music industry is dying, then that person should really just update himself a little bit. I am pretty sure that I have complained more than once that HK singers nowadays cannot make it. Jacky Cheung can't be the only one holding up the music industry right? Then we have singers like Eason Chan who releases albums at the inhuman rate of 3 per year. Whatever for? When that will not keep the music scene alive, and even cause the value of good music to drop. But he focuses mainly on the Mandarin market. Other singers like Khalil Fong, Hins Cheung, Ivana Wong are probably the better few, but I don't think expectations are met.. Seeing names like Myolie Wu, Stephy Tang, Ron Ng and Bosco Wong in the 'List of Cantopop Singers', I feel like crying. Aren't they actors? And you don't need a professional critic to tell you that they can't sing. I think I will simply die if supporters of Cantopop singers were to read this, but seriously.. We are experiencing the era of the '口水歌' from Hongkong. Fast hits, unimpressive hits.
Cantopop has gone into the grave with Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui and Roman Tam.
Can someone just revive the Cantopop music industry?
